The seat

Well some progress has been made. The spring unit has been secured, covered in hessian and stitched and the top fabric is being chopped and pinned. Really need to buy a contrast fabric now....oh what colour to choose?

The chair had a great pocketed sprint unit in it and failing to find a replacement we decided that the best way to re-do it would be to make up a new unit, using the pieces that had come out. I'll keep you posted on how I get on with the challenge ahead...

New Chairs...

I've started some new chairs - this time a pair of 1950's chairs that belonged to my Great-Grandmother. They are by Howard Keith and really were of the time. The original fabric was still in tack as it was so hard-wearing but they really did need brought up to date. Here's how it started off...and once all that old fabric was removed.
